LAURENCE WILCOX
About Me.
Hi, I'm Laurence, a designer and architect with a passion for creating functional and beautiful designs. I have over ten years of experience in the design industry, working on projects ranging from small planning applications to repairing and adjusting cathedrals.
I am a hard worker, quick learner, and very committed to my work. I approach problems with an open mind and always look for new ways to improve my skills and deliver quality results. I am obsessive about the things that engage me the most and push the boundaries around ways to work efficiently.
I learn and adapt technological advances to use at work in a way that is beneficial to the business and not just a gimmick. Whether you need a logo, a brochure, a website, or a building, I can help you bring your vision to life.
I have a keen eye for aesthetics, a strong sense of style, and a flair for creativity. I work well with clients and collaborators, and I always strive to exceed expectations. 2021 - Architecture Part 3

2016 - 2017 Architecture Part 2
The Arts University,
Bournemouth
I did my architecture part 2 masters at the Arts University Bournemouth from 2015 to 2017. The course taught me alternative forms of representation in architecture, such as collage, montage, mapping, and storytelling. I used these methods to design interventions for parts of the UK that suffer from deprivation, such as urban decay, social exclusion, and environmental degradation. My intervention was to clean dirt from existing buildings.
I wanted to restore the some dignity and beauty of these structures, and to make a statement about the lack of care for poorer places. My intervention impressed the local officials who invited me to present my ideas on how it could inform local policy.
The course was challenging but rewarding, and it helped me develop my critical and creative skills as an architect.
2008 - 2012 Architecture Part 1
University for the Creative Arts,
Canterbury
I completed my architecture part 1 degree at UCA Canterbury in 2012. The course was design focused and aimed to develop my hand drawing skills and visual communication. I learned how to express my ideas and concepts through sketches, diagrams, and drawings, using various techniques and tools. I also explored the principles and practices of architecture, such as space, form, function, and context.
The course also encouraged me to experiment with other creative media, such as model making, film, and animation. I enjoyed working with different materials and methods, and creating physical and digital representations of my designs. I also collaborated with other students and tutors, and participated in workshops, exhibitions, and competitions.
